چکیده
The diffusion and reactivity of hydrogen atoms in solid parahydrogen at temperatures between 1.5 K 4.3 are investigated by high-resolution infrared spectroscopy. Hydrogen produced within as the by-products 193 nm situ photolysis N2O, which induces a two-step tunneling reaction, H + N2O ? cis-HNNO trans-HNNO. second-order rate constant for first step to form is found be inversely proportional concentration after photolysis, indicating that move through via quantum diffusion. This reaction only readily occurs below 2.8 K, not due an increased low but rather selectivity reaction. second mechanism involving unimolecular isomerization shown independent expected. inverse dependence involves atom demonstrates clearly influences parahydrogen, does have analogy classical kinetics.

Diffusion of hydrogen fluoride in solid parahydrogen.
We studied diffusion of hydrogen fluoride (HF) in solid parahydrogen (pH2) around 4 K. Diffusion rates were determined from time dependence of FT-IR spectra of HF monomers. The absorption of HF monomers shows temporal decay due to dimerization reaction via diffusion. It was found that the rates are affected by the sample temperature, the initial HF concentration, and annealing of samples. The o...

where H-H-C and H-D-C are weak bonds and make a negligible contribution, leads to a value of -2 kcal. Therefore, E5-E2=1 kcal compared with the experimental value of 1.0 kcal. The preexponential factor for this pair of isotopic reactions can be calculated from the difference in the entropies of activation. Using the same loose complex as above and applying the expression derived by Bigeleisens ...

We performed ab initio molecular dynamics simulations of the C2c and Cmca-12 phases of hydrogen at pressures from 210 to 350 GPa. These phases were predicted to be stable at 0 K and pressures above 200 GPa. However, systematic studies of temperature impact on properties of these phases have not been performed so far. Filling this gap, we observed that on temperature increase diffusion sets in t...
متن کاملVibrationally quantum-state-specific reaction dynamics of H atom abstraction by CN radical in solution.
Solvent collisions can often mask initial disposition of energy to the products of solution-phase chemical reactions. Here, we show with transient infrared absorption spectra obtained with picosecond time resolution that the nascent HCN products of reaction of CN radicals with cyclohexane in chlorinated organic solvents exhibit preferential excitation of one quantum of the C-H stretching mode a...
متن کاملReduction and Unfolding for Quantum Systems: the Hydrogen Atom
Reduction procedures have been extensively studied in the classical setting, dealing mainly with Hamiltonian dynamics ([1], [2], [3]) but also Lagrangian dynamics or more general ones ([4],[5], [6]). It has been noted that different classes of completely integrable systems arise as reduction of free (or simpler) ones in higher dimensions ([7]): this has been the motivation for the development o...
