Hydrometer Design Based on Thin-Film Resistive Sensor for Water Measurement in Residential Buildings

Because of economic, population, and consumption patterns changes, the use freshwater has increased significantly in last 100 years. Notably, measurement is essential to encourage water conservation. Thus, present study aims evaluate applicability a thin-film resistive sensor (bend sensor) with different coatings for implementation individualized systems. The motivation this work propose volumetric meter using flow control valves that ordinarily are already building’s hydraulic installations. Methodologically, following presented: system developed electromechanical thermal characterization sensor, computational simulation performed Ansys® software, electronic circuit designed LTSpice® artificial neural network used estimate volume estimates from trapezoidal pulses. results obtained allowed us assess that, taking into account type coating, coated polyester better behavior proposed hydrometer.
