چکیده
A complete understanding of the brain requires an integrated description numerous scales neural organization. It means studying interplay genes, synapses, and even whole regions which ultimately leads to different types behavior, from perception action, while asleep or awake. Yet, multiscale modeling is challenging, in part because difficulty access simultaneously information multiple spatiotemporal scales. While some insights have been gained on role specific microcircuits (e.g., thalamocortical), a comprehensive characterization how changes occurring at one scale can impact other ones, remains poorly understood. Recent efforts address this gap include development new analytical tools mostly adapted network science dynamical systems theory. These theoretical contributions provide powerful framework analyze model interconnected complex exhibiting interactions within between scales, layers. Here, we present recent advances for organization terms structure-function, oscillation frequencies temporal evolution. Efforts are reviewed multilayer properties underlying higher-order neuronal assemblies, as well identification multimodal network-based biomarkers pathologies, such Alzheimer's disease. We conclude Colloquium with perspective discussion results theory, involving generative modeling, controllability machine learning, could be adopted questions modern neuroscience.

Modeling and Network Organization
The use of mathematical modeling and analysis of networks has a long history in biological research. Perhaps the best-known early example of insightful modeling is the work of Hodgkin and Huxley in 1952 describing how sodium and potassium ion channels could function together to produce the membrane action potential in neurons (Hodgkin and Huxley, 1952). For several decades, models and theory we...

today, scouring is one of the important topics in the river and coastal engineering so that the most destruction in the bridges is occurred due to this phenomenon. whereas the bridges are assumed as the most important connecting structures in the communications roads in the country and their importance is doubled while floodwater, thus exact design and maintenance thereof is very crucial. f...
Brain activity at rest: a multiscale hierarchical functional organization.
Spontaneous brain activity was mapped with functional MRI (fMRI) in a sample of 180 subjects while in a conscious resting-state condition. With the use of independent component analysis (ICA) of each individual fMRI signal and classification of the ICA-defined components across subjects, a set of 23 resting-state networks (RNs) was identified. Functional connectivity between each pair of RNs wa...
متن کاملFunctional Network Organization of the Human Brain
Real-world complex systems may be mathematically modeled as graphs, revealing properties of the system. Here we study graphs of functional brain organization in healthy adults using resting state functional connectivity MRI. We propose two novel brain-wide graphs, one of 264 putative functional areas, the other a modification of voxelwise networks that eliminates potentially artificial short-di...
متن کاملMultiscale modeling and simulation of brain blood flow.
The aim of this work is to present an overview of recent advances in multi-scale modeling of brain blood flow. In particular, we present some approaches that enable the in silico study of multi-scale and multi-physics phenomena in the cerebral vasculature. We discuss the formulation of continuum and atomistic modeling approaches, present a consistent framework for their concurrent coupling, and...
