Identification and Quantification of Polyphenolic Secondary Metabolites in Stem Bark of Ficus religiosa (Moraceae) Using UPLC-HRMS and RP-HPLC-PDA

F. religiosa bark has been extensively used in traditional medicinal systems, such as Ayurveda, for its health benefits. The aim of this study was to investigate the secondary metabolites (phenolics and flavonoids) hydroalcoholic stem-bark extract from because plant proven have a beneficial effect on disorders. Therefore, pilot conducted identification quantification polyphenolic compounds using sophisticated chromatographical techniques UPLC-HRMS RP-HPLC-PDA. Additionally, total flavonoids, phenolics scavenging profile were studied UV spectrophotometer. A 23 identified with mainly phenolic acids, polyphenolics, flavonoids (flavanols proanthocyanidins). Among compounds, gallic acid, catechin, epicatechin, epigallocatechin gallate, ellagic acid simultaneously quantified (0.031–0.380%) Thereafter, complied by evaluating (109.15 ± 1.2 mg RuE/g 33.78 0.86 CaE/g), (4.81 1.01 GaE/g), profiles (IC50 13.75 0.12 µg/mL) bark. This is first report chemical profiling bark, which necessary step evaluate nutraceutical properties, paving way possible food application.
