چکیده
Modal analysis is a well-established method for of linear systems, but its extension to non-linear structures has proven be much more problematic. Several competitive definitions modes and variety experimental methods have been introduced. In this paper, the definition complex (CNMs) mechanical systems adopted possibility their identification from free decay responses using Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) explored. It firstly discussed that since there are similarities in intrinsic mode functions obtained HHT reduced order model slow-flow dynamics based on CNMs, reason believe can indeed extract CNMs. This however, presents new insight into use by showing amplitude-dependent frequency damping extracted response only suitable detection characterisation non-linearities, they cannot used quantify behaviour fitting CNMs even if system known. The analytical proof currently formulated due limited understanding empirical nature. Instead, unconventional conclusion supported series numerical studies conservative non-conservative with wide range parameters. all cases, special care taken apply basic such signals which separation possible (no mode-mixing occurs). eliminates need sophisticated versions clearly demonstrates inability simplest cases. addition studies, several demonstrated experimentally ECL benchmark. shown able successfully whose character correspond reference, parameters conclusions made paper. findings highlight ability severely limited, while non-parametric manner feasible.

Hilbert-Huang Transform for Non-Linear Characterization of Speech Rhythm
A method for non-linear and non-stationary characterisation of speech rhythm is presented using Hilbert Huang Transform (HHT) of ‘Speech Unit Intervals’ (SUI) signals. SUI signals are supported by intervals duration between given speech units such as vowel, consonant, or syllable. While HHT is based on the combination of the Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) and the Hilbert transform of the pr...
متن کاملNon-linear Free Vibration Identification via the Hilbert Transform
The Hilbert Transform (HT) and its properties, applied to the analysis of linear and non-linear vibrations, are discussed at great length in [1]. The application of the HT to a signal provides some additional information about amplitude, instantaneous phase and vibration frequency. This information is valid when applied to the analysis of non-linear vibration motions [2]. Moreover, it has been ...

15 صفحه اولUsing the Hilbert-huang Transform for Ann Prediction of Nonstationary Processes in Complex Power Systems
The trends in expansion of electric power systems and changes in the conditions of their operation have led to complicate power system operation, increased its changeability and unpredictability that call for prompter and more adequate response of controls systems. This paper presents the hybrid model for the short-term prediction the parameters of expected operating conditions based on joint u...
متن کاملHyperspectral Image Analysis Using Hilbert-huang Transform
ABSTRACT: Hyperspectral images, which contain rich and fine spectral information, can improve land use/cover classification accuracy, while traditional statistics-based classifiers cannot be directly used on such images with limited training samples. The commonly used method to solve this problem is dimensionality reduction, and this can be done by feature extraction for hyperspectral images. T...
