Immobilisation induces sizeable and sustained reductions in forearm glucose uptake in just 24 h but does not change lipid uptake in healthy men

چکیده

Key points The trajectory, magnitude and localisation of metabolic perturbations caused by immobilisation (IMM) are unresolved. Forearm glucose uptake (FGU) in response to feeding was determined healthy men before during 72 h forearm IMM, the same measurements were made non-IMM contralateral limb at baseline h. In a similar study design, FGU lipid after high fat mixed-meal (HFMM) IMM limbs. reduced 38%, 57% 46% following 24, 48 respectively, but unchanged limb. A observed HFMM, unchanged. sizeable reduction occurs just 24 which is sustained thereafter specific limb, making unloading per se likely rapid driver dysregulation. These findings highlight lack contraction as fast-acting physiological insult FGU.

: examining l2 teachers’ corrective feedback types in relation to learners’ uptake, proficiency levels, and context types

abstract this study investigates the teachers’ correction of students’ spoken errors of linguistic forms in efl classes, aiming at (a) examining the relationship between the learners’ proficiency level and the provision of corrective feedback types, (b) exploring the extent to which teachers’ use of different corrective feedback types is related to the immediate types of context in which err...

Interstitial insulin concentrations determine glucose uptake rates but not insulin resistance in lean and obese men.

Insulin action and obesity are both correlated with the density of muscle capillary supply in humans. Since the altered muscle anatomy in the obese might affect interstitial insulin concentrations and reduce insulin action, we have cannulated peripheral lymphatic vessels in lean and obese males, and compared peripheral lymph insulin concentrations with whole body glucose uptake during a euglyce...

Role of orFD Pseudomonas aeruginosa H103 Gene in Glucose Uptake

Background:Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a gram negative non facultative bacterium and one of the members of normal flora in different sites of body in healthy humans.this bacterium can resist in fluids and hospital environments for a long time.Pseudomonas aeruginosa has two systems for glucose uptake:a low affinity oxidative pathway and a high affinity phosohorylative pathway.Although the role of ...

Association of Arterial Stiffness Following Glucose Uptake and Exercise with Baseline Vitamin D Levels in Inactive Men and Women

vitamin D deficiency is associated with many cardiovascular disorders. Arterial stiffness responses also depend on nutritional and exercise. Therefore, the study aimed to investigate the relationship between arterial stiffness response after glucose uptake and exercise with baseline levels of vitamin D in inactive men and women. The present study was an analysis correlation study, and the subj...

Forearm glucose uptake in cirrhosis and its relationship to glucose tolerance.

1. Oral glucose-tolerance tests (100 g) were carried out in six patients with stable well-compensated cryptogenic cirrhosis and in 12 control subjects. 2. In confirmation of previous studies, patients with cirrhosis had high post-glucose serum insulin levels and were glucose intolerant (mean incremental glucose area 954 +/- 186 compared with 482 +/- 35 mmol 3 h-1 l-1 in controls; P < 0.05). 3. ...
