چکیده

The use of alternative fuels, such as bio-alcohols, in advanced propulsion systems could a feasible strategy to address several the current issues associated internal combustion engines fuelled by carbonaceous fossil fuels. Particularly, soot particles, are one key pollutants emitted from compression ignition engines. Therefore, development formation prediction models providing new understanding on impact fuels become essential for mitigation purposes. This study proposes semi-empirical model that predicts in-cylinder primary particle growth an engine with alcohol–diesel fuel blends. uses macroscopic experimental measurements parameters instantaneous pressure. Furthermore, empirical correlation is presented predicting mean size function blend properties and fuel/air ratio. measurement obtained High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope (HT-TEM) micrographs particles collected via thermophoresis. Overall, research findings this work contributes propose environmentally friendly candidates transportation.

Investigating the effects of fuel injection strategies in a dual-fuel diesel-H2 compression ignition engine

In this computational research, the separate and simultaneous impacts of diesel direct injection timing, fuel spraying cone angle, and hydrogen gas addition on combustion characteristics, output emissions, and performance in a single-cylinder direct injection diesel engine was studied. In order to conduct the simulations, valid and reliable models for combustion, break-up, and for turbulence wa...

Performance of Pre-heated Cottonseed Oil and Diesel Fuel Blends in a Compression Ignition Engine

Viscosity of vegetable oil is considered a constraint for its use as an alternate fuel for Internal Combustion(IC) engines. In this experimental investigation, the viscosity of cottonseed oil (CSO), which is considered a potential alternate fuel, is reduced by blending it in different proportions with diesel, and its viscosity at various temperatures was analyzed and used as a fuel in a compres...

Effect of Ignition Timing, Equivalence Ratio, and Compression Ratio on the Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Variable Compression Ratio Si Engine using Ethanol-Unleaded Gasoline Blends

This paper investigates the effect of ethanol-unleaded gasoline blends (E0,E10,E25,E35,andE65) computer interfaced, four-stroke single cylinder compression ignition engine. The said engine wasconverted to spark ignition and carburetion to suit ethanol fuel. A suitable provision was provided on theengine to vary the compression ratio thereby making the engine adaptable to operate at lowercompres...
