چکیده

Abstract Fusion neutronics calculations provide important metrics pertinent to fusion reactor operations, such as tritium breeding ratios and data on heat deposition, material activation, damage. Because of the high computational burden required generate a high-fidelity Monte Carlo simulation 3D reactor, various assumptions are made reduce time by simplifying model or calculation iteration. This paper explores impact ratio decay structural materials based composition in temperature modeling materials. Results show that for compact tokamaks with power long operational cycles, transmutation is significant enough cause substantial change flux spectrum decrease (TBR) 3.63% after 2 years full operation. Additionally, assuming constant density can TBR up 3%.

UWFDM-1076 Three-Dimensional Neutronics Analysis for the LIBRA-SP Light Ion Fusion Power Reactor

Three-dimensional (3-D) neutron-gamma transport calculations have been performed for the LIBRA-SP chamber with detailed geometrical modeling and results were compared to results based on one-dimensional (1-D) calculations. The overall tritium breeding ratio is 1.396. This is only 3% lower than the value predicted from the 1D results. The overall reactor energy multiplication is 1.157 which is o...

UWFDM-837 Neutronics and Thermal Analyses for the Breeding Blanket of the ICF Tritium Production Reactor SIRIUS-T

A breeding blanket design for the tritium production ICF reactor SIRIUS-T is presented. The blanket consists of alternating layers of beryllium multiplier and lithium breeder/coolant with vanadium alloy structure. A tritium breeding ratio of 1.9 can be achieved for the optimum layered configuration with lithium enriched to 90% 6Li. An optimum coolant routing scheme is utilized to achieve adequa...
