چکیده
Background and Objectives: Community-acquired respiratory virus (CARV) infections pose a serious risk for lung transplant recipients (LTR) as they are prone to severe complications. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit Switzerland in 2020, government implemented hygiene measures general population. We investigated impact of these on transmission CARV Switzerland. Materials Methods: In this multicenter, retrospective study recipients, we two time periods: year before (1 March 2019–29 February 2020) first 2020–28 2021). Data were mainly collected from Swiss Transplant Cohort Study (STCS) database. Descriptive statistics used analyze results. Results: 221 cohort patients evaluated. pandemic, 157 diagnosed compared 71 (decline 54%, p < 0.001). Influenza alone showed remarkable decrease 17 2 after beginning pandemic. No significant difference was found testing behavior; 803 vs. 925 tests obtained by three centers during respective periods. Conclusions: observed decline These results suggest relevant when population due incidence infections.

Prevalence of herpes simplex virus type 1 and 2 infections in renal transplant recipients and their renal function
Background and Objectives: Viral infections are a major problem for transplant recipients. Reactivation of viruses is associated with the use of strong immunosuppressive drugs. Herpes simplex virus infections in renal transplant patients may become severe without treatment. Although the prevalence and role of herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2 in bone marrow and lung recipients are well known; howe...
متن کاملRespiratory viral infections in transplant recipients.
A wide range of viruses affect the respiratory tract of transplant recipients, including adenovirus, influenza, human metapneumovirus, parainfluenza virus, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and rhinovirus. Prospective studies using contemporary diagnostic techniques have recently improved our understanding of the epidemiology and importance of these respiratory viruses among transplant recipien...
متن کاملVirus Infection and Titration of SARS-CoV in Mouse Lung.
Two critical steps when investigating an animal model of a virus infection are consistently successfully infecting animals and accurately determining viral titers in tissue throughout the course of infection. Here we discuss in detail how to infect mice with SARS-CoV and then quantify the titer of virus in the lung.
متن کاملMycobacterial infections in lung transplant recipients.
BACKGROUND Immunosuppression and chronic lung disease are known risk factors for mycobacterial infection and might be expected to develop with an increased frequency in lung transplant recipients. We therefore sought to document the incidence and type of mycobacterial infections in a large lung transplant program. METHODS A retrospective review of 219 transplant procedures (60 single lung tra...
