چکیده
Abstract We propose a scheme to implement general quantum measurements, also known as Positive Operator Valued Measures (POVMs) in dimension d using only classical resources and single ancillary qubit. Our method is based on probabilistic implementation of -outcome measurements which followed by postselection some the received outcomes. conjecture that success probability our larger than constant independent for all POVMs . Crucially, this implies possibility realizing arbitrary nonadaptive measurement protocol -dimensional system auxiliary qubit with overhead sampling complexity. show holds typical rank-one Haar-random dimensions. Furthermore, we carry out extensive numerical computations showing above variety extremal POVMs, including SIC-POVMs up 1299. Finally, argue can be favorable experimental realization noise compounding circuits required typically substantially lower standard directly uses Naimark’s dilation theorem.

Quantum proofs can be verified using only single qubit measurements
QMA (Quantum Merlin Arthur) is the class of problems which, though potentially hard to solve, have a quantum solution which can be verified efficiently using a quantum computer. It thus forms a natural quantum version of the classical complexity class NP (and its probabilistic variant MA, Merlin-Arthur games), where the verifier has only classical computational resources. In this paper, we stud...

Tomoyuki Morimae ∗ ASRLD Unit, Gunma University, 1-5-1 Tenjin-cho Kiryu-shi Gunma-ken, 376-0052, Japan Abstract We show that the class QAM does not change even if the verifier’s ability is restricted to only single-qubit measurements. To show the result, we use the idea of the measurement-based quantum computing: the verifier, who can do only single-qubit measurements, can test the graph state ...
متن کاملQuantum state and circuit distinguishability with single-qubit measurements
Abstract We show that the Quantum State Distinguishability (QSD), which is a QSZK-complete problem, and the Quantum Circuit Distinguishability (QCD), which is a QIP-complete problem, can be solved by the verifier who can perform only single-qubit measurements. To show these results, we use measurement-based quantum computing: the honest prover sends a graph state to the verifier, and the verifi...
متن کاملSignatures of quantum behavior in single-qubit weak measurements.
With the recent surge of interest in quantum computation, it has become very important to develop clear experimental tests for "quantum behavior" in a system. This issue has been addressed in the past in the form of the inequalities due to Bell and those due to Leggett and Garg. These inequalities concern the results of ideal projective measurements, however, which are experimentally difficult ...
متن کاملQuantum circuits for single-qubit measurements corresponding to platonic solids
Each platonic solid defines a single-qubit positive operator valued measure (POVM) by interpreting its vertices as points on the Bloch sphere. We construct simple circuits for implementing this kind of measurements and other simple types of symmetric POVMs on one qubit. Each implementation consists of a discrete Fourier transform and some elementary quantum operations followed by an orthogonal ...
