چکیده
Biomass with a large amount of moisture is well-suited to be processed by supercritical water gasification, SCWG. The precipitation inorganics, together char formation and re-polymerization, can cause reactor plugging stop the process operations. When occurs, sudden injections relatively mass quantities take place, influencing flow dynamics significantly in process. Reactor phenomenon very well observed during SCWG industrial feedstock, which hinders scale-up initiatives, it seldom studied precision literature. present study provides an accurate evaluation continuous tubular event water. An interpretation results regarding properties at conditions contributes comprehending heat transfer when occurs. Experiments are then compared biomass sample aiming give key insights into fluid mechanisms that could help develop operational control strategies increase reliability In addition, simplified model presented assess effect material integrity on burst-event likelihood, states safe operate, 250 bar 610 °C, reactors made 0.22 wall thickness-to-diameter ratio Inconel-625 superficial microfractures smaller than 30 µm. We also suggest improvement opportunities for safety operation mode.

Gasification of biomass in supercritical water (SCWG)
Conversion of wet biomass via gasification in supercritical water is a promising technology for the production of hydrogen and methane from renewable resources. The properties of water above the critical point enable reactions for the fast degradation of biomass and generation of a product gas consisting of hydrogen, methane, higher hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide without disturbing sulphurand ...
متن کاملSupercritical Water Gasification of Biomass and Organic Wastes
With the exhaustion of fossil fuels and the severe pollution of the environment, it’s urgent to find substitute renewable energy resources. Biomass is a kind of widespread and abundant renewable resource with lower sulfur content than fossil fuels, so the pollution to environment from biomass usage is much slighter than that from fossil fuels usage. Besides, zero emission of CO2 can be realized...

The conversion of glycerol in supercritical water (SCW) was studied at 510 – 550°C and a pressure of 350 bars using both a bed of inert and non-porous ZrO2 particles (hydrothermal experiments), and a bed of 1 % Ru/ZrO2 catalyst particles. Experiments were conducted with a glycerol concentration of 5 wt% in a continuous isothermal fixed-bed reactor at a residence time between 2 and 10 s. Hydroth...
