چکیده

Objective: To analyze the role of urodynamic dysfunctions as risk factors for recurrent urinary tract infections (rUTIs) in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Material and methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study 170 MS who underwent due to lower symptoms. Patients were followed one year, 114 (84 women [74%] 30 men [26%]; mean age 49 years) completed study. Clinical variables findings (free uroflowmetry, cystometry, pressure-flow results) recorded. Results indicated rUTIs was present 37 (32%). Statistical analysis performed using Fisher’s exact test, chi-square Student’s t-test, multivariate regression analysis. Results: In univariate analysis, significant differences observed between without following clinical variables: symptom progression time, duration, Expanded Disability Status Scale score, type. Regarding findings, maximum flow rate (Qmax) (lower rUTIs), voided volume, bladder voiding efficiency, stress incontinence (SUI) (greater rUTI frequency affected patients), detrusor pressure at flow, contractility index score. Multivariate identified factors: low Qmax [Odds Ratio (OR) = 0.90 SUI (OR 2.95) independent predictors rUTs. Conclusions: Two SUI, are patients. These two might be associated Pelvic floor dysfunctions.

Testing of urodynamic dysfunctions in patients with multiple sclerosis.

BACKGROUND/AIM Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disorder of the unknown origin leading to multifocal demyelization, axonal damage and the loss of the nervous tissue in various parts of the central nervous system. Most MS patients have decreased functionality of the bladder leading to various dysuria disorders during the course of the illness. However, in 2% of the ca...

Clinical significance of video-urodynamic in female recurrent urinary tract infections

PURPOSE We aimed to assess the value of video-urodynamic study (VUD) in the identification of lower urinary tract voiding dysfunction in female recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs). PATIENTS AND METHODS A total of 54 women with recurrent UTIs who underwent VUDs between 2013 and 2015 were analyzed. They were carefully evaluated by complete history, voiding diary, physical investigation, u...
