چکیده

The paper deals with the self-ignition and combustion of hydrogen jets in a high-speed transverse flow hot vitiated air duct. Improved Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation (IDDES) approach based on Shear Stress Transport (SST) model is used, which this applied to turbulent reacting finite rate chemical reactions. An original Adaptive Implicit Scheme for unsteady simulations flows combustion, was successfully used IDDES simulation, described. simulation results are compared experimental database obtained at LAERTE workbench ONERA—The French Aerospace Laboratory. Comparison shows strong sensitivity surface roughness temperature duct walls. modeling good agreement pressure distributions along wall videoregistration excited radical chemiluminescence.

Local Entropy Generation in Compressible Flow through a High Pressure Turbine with Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation

Abstract: Gas turbines are important energy-converting equipment in many industries. The flow inside gas turbines is very complicated and the knowledge about the flow loss mechanism is critical to the advanced design. The current design system heavily relies on empirical formulas or Reynolds Averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS), which faces big challenges in dealing with highly unsteady complex flow a...

development of a 2-d numerical model for simulation of air distribution in high speed air water flow

in the present study a quasi 2-d numerical model is developed for calculating air concentration distribution in rapid flows. the model solves air continuity equation (convection diffusion equation) in the whole flow domain. this solution is then coupled with calculations of the free surface in which air content in the flow is also considered. to verify the model, its results are compared with a...

Large Eddy Simulation of oscillating flow in combustion chambers

The development of combustion systems to minimize the emission of pollutants and to increase the system’s efficiency involves modifications of the combustion process using premixed systems and highly turbulent swirl stabilized flames. However, these modifications of the combustion process usually lead to stability problems caused by the appearance of combustion-driven oscillations. Therefore, i...
