چکیده

Milk production from Asiatic swamp buffalo is a new enterprise in Laos. As yields are limited, provision of high-quality cow-calf molasses nutrient blocks containing 10% urea (UMNB10) may improve productivity. A trial recently established commercial dairy examined dietary supplementation lactating cows with UMNB10, three groups nine mid-lactation randomly selected. Two received ad libitum access to UMBs the remaining group free block supplements. All animals were daily fed fresh Napier grass (30 kg), corn (750 gm), rice bran (1.45 plus accessed Mulatto grass. Daily milk (DMP) and body condition score (BCS) recorded for 2 months UMB. Average DMP two supplemented 1.02 0.96 L, compared 0.78 L control group, suggesting improved productivity 31 24% accessing Partial budget analysis identified strong incentive use blocks, net profit USD 408 295 over 30-day period groups. multi-intervention livestock development strategy that includes combination nutritional health interventions has been proposed scale-out assist smallholder farming efficiency developing countries. The be simple motivator these communities increase large ruminant production, improving rural livelihoods, food security, potentially, reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHGe) ruminant-derived foods.

To further probe into whether swamp buffaloes were domesticated once or multiple times in China, this survey examined the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) Control Region (D-loop) diversity of 471 individuals representing 22 populations of 455 Chinese swamp buffaloes and 16 river buffaloes. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that Chinese swamp buffaloes could be divided into two distinct lineages, A and B,...

Effect of feeding urea-molasses blocks with incorporated fenbendazole on grazing dairy heifers naturally infected with gastrointestinal nematodes.

Between June 1999 and August 2000, the effects of feeding medicated urea-molasses supplement blocks on the growth of dairy heifers in a marginal area of central Kenya were assessed by comparing the live-weight gain of supplemented and unsupplemented heifers grazing the same pasture. Thirty-nine heifers with an average age of 9.6 months were initially treated orally with albendazole (10 mg/kg bo...

Effect of Gestation Stage on Milk Production in Dairy Buffalo

Dairy buffalo is the major source of milk production kept under peri-urban, low input production system. There is no practice of feeding animals according to requirements; exposing them to nutritional deficiency with the onset of pregnancy. It leads to a decline in milk yield, which compels the farmers to keep the animals un-bred. The present work was conducted to document, the post-conception ...
