چکیده

Vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) are wireless-equipped vehicles that form along the road. The security of this network has been a major challenge. identity-based cryptosystem (IBC) previously used to secure suffers from membership authentication features. This paper focuses on improving detection intruders in VANETs with modified (MIBC). MIBC is developed using non-singular elliptic curve Lagrange interpolation. public key and roadside units derived number plates location identification numbers, respectively. Pseudo-identities mask real identity users preserve their privacy. mechanism ensures only valid authenticated members allowed join network. performance evaluated intrusion ratio (IDR) computation time (CT) then validated existing IBC. result obtained shows recorded an IDR 99.3% against 94.3% for (EIBC) 140 unregistered attempting intrude lower CT values 1.17 ms 1.70 EIBC. can be improve VANETs.

An Ontology-based Intrusion Detection for Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks

A vehicular ad hoc network (vanet) is an independent system of vehicles connected by wireless connection to form a network. This type of network is used to reduce the number of accidents via the exchange of alert messages between the neighborhood vehicles. These alert messages constitute an ideal target for attacks that aim to prevent them to reach their destinations, and thereby endangering hu...

Improving Performance of Opportunistic Routing Protocol using Fuzzy Logic for Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks in Highways

Vehicular ad hoc networks are an emerging technology with an extensive capability in various applications including vehicles safety, traffic management and intelligent transportation systems. Considering the high mobility of vehicles and their inhomogeneous distributions, designing an efficient routing protocol seems necessary. Given the fact that a road is crowded at some sections and is not c...

A New Intrusion Detection System to deal with Black Hole Attacks in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

By extending wireless networks and because of their different nature, some attacks appear in these networks which did not exist in wired networks. Security is a serious challenge for actual implementation in wireless networks. Due to lack of the fixed infrastructure and also because of security holes in routing protocols in mobile ad hoc networks, these networks are not protected against attack...

Improving Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network Stability Using Meta-Heuristic Algorithms

Vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) is an important component of intelligent transportation systems, in which vehicles are equipped with on-board computing and communication devices which enable vehicle-to-vehicle communication. Consequently, with regard to larger communication due to the greater number of vehicles, stability of connectivity would be a challenging problem. Clustering technique as ...
