Improving the Stability of Ru-Doped Ni-Based Catalysts for Steam Methane Reforming during Daily Startup and Shutdown Operation

چکیده

In this study, a Ru-doped Ni pellet-type catalyst was prepared to produce hydrogen via steam methane reforming (SMR). A small amount of Ru addition on the improved dispersion, thus affording higher catalytic activity than that catalyst. During daily startup and shutdown (DSS) operations, CH4 conversion catalysts significantly decreased because metal oxidation NiAl2O4, which is not reduced completely at 700 °C. Conversely, oxidized species in Ru–Ni can be under SMR conditions H2 spillover from surface onto Ni. Consequently, quantity improve stability during DSS operation.

Propene versus propane steam reforming for hydrogen production over Pd-based and Ni-based catalysts

Experiments of propane and propene steam reforming have been performed over a Pd–Cu/c-Al2O3 catalyst and over a Ni/NiAl2O4 catalyst. Over the palladium-based catalyst, the steam reforming of propene is faster and more selective than steam reforming of propane. Over the Pd catalyst, the steam reforming of propane is likely inhibited by site poisoning. In contrast, over Ni-based catalyst the refo...

Methane activation on Ni and Ru model catalysts

This article reviews research related to the activation of methane by Ni and Ru using model catalysts, highlighting the surface science work carried out using molecular beams methods and elevated pressure reaction studies. Emphasis is placed on connecting the model studies of surface science with the corresponding results obtained on the analogous ‘real world’ catalysts. These combined studies ...

Ru-Ni CATALYST IN THE COMBINED DRY-STEAM REFORMING OF METHANE: THE IMPORTANCE IN THE METAL ORDER ADDITION

Biogas is one of the main biomass-energy resources. Its use for syngas production with a H2/CO ratio close to 2 would have huge environmental, social and economic impact in the actual energetic scenario. However, the use of dry reforming, where the two main components are transformed into syngas, does not allow the desired H2/CO ratio. For this reason, the addition of water is proposed. The pro...

Ni-Based Catalysts for Low Temperature Methane Steam Reforming: Recent Results on Ni-Au and Comparison with Other Bi-Metallic Systems

Steam reforming of light hydrocarbons provides a promising method for hydrogen production. Ni-based catalysts are so far the best and the most commonly used catalysts for steam reforming because of their acceptably high activity and significantly lower cost in comparison with alternative precious metal-based catalysts. However, nickel catalysts are susceptible to deactivation from the depositio...

Kinetic comparison of Ni/Al2O3 and Ni/MgO-Al2O3 nano structure catalysts in CO2 reforming of methane

The kinetic characteristics of the Ni/Al2O3 and Ni/MgO-Al2O3 catalysts were investigated in CO2 reforming of methane (CRM). The reaction orders (α and β) and the rate constant (k) were calculated using the non-linear regression analysis, in which the sum of the squared differences of calculated and experimental CO2 reforming of m...
