چکیده

The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the long-term effect overnight use denture cleansers with different chemical compositions on color stability base polymers (DBPs). four DBPs evaluated were PEEK (PK group), thermoinjection-molded polyamide (PA auto-polymerized polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) (AP and heat-polymerized resin PMMA (HP group). cleaning agents used Corega tablet (CT), Protefix (PT), 0.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) solution (SH). Distilled water (DW) served as a control. Forty-eight disc-shaped specimens (10mm × 2mm) prepared from each DBP randomly immersed storage media (n=12 Color measurements before after immersion made using spectrophotometer (VITA Easyshade V). changes measured recorded L* a* b*. After 120 d, CIEDE2000 formula calculate (∆E00). For analysis data, multivariate variance (p<0.05). results statistical revealed significant change differences various Groups PA PK showed highest values for all solutions. AP-SH ∆E00 value group AP, no difference found between other In HP, there statistically average Long-term daily affected DBPs, although level acceptable. Laboratory clinical studies are needed confirm study.

Effect of denture cleansers on color stability, surface roughness, and hardness of different denture base resins

AIM The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different denture cleansers on the color stability, surface hardness, and roughness of different denture base resins. MATERIALS AND METHODS Three denture base resin materials (conventional heat cure resin, high impact resin, and polyamide denture base resin) were immersed for 180 days in commercially available two denture cleansers (...

Effect of denture cleansers on metal ion release and surface roughness of denture base materials.

Chemical disinfectants are usually associated with mechanical methods to remove stains and reduce biofilm formation. This study evaluated the effect of disinfectants on release of metal ions and surface roughness of commercially pure titanium, metal alloys, and heat-polymerized acrylic resin, simulating 180 immersion trials. Disk-shaped specimens were fabricated with commercially pure titanium ...

Evaluation of flexural strength and color stability of different denture base materials including flexible material after using different denture cleansers

AIMS Present study aimed at evaluating the colour stability and flexural strength of flexible denture base materials (Valplast) and Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) denture base material (Meliodent) processed by two different methods (Injection moulding and compression moulding) after immersing them in three different denture cleansers with acidic, basic and neutral PH. METHODS AND MATERIALS To...

Effect of Different Denture Cleansers on Surface Roughness of Denture Base Materials

Background and Aim: It has been commonly believed that, denture cleansers have detrimental effects on the surface structure of denture base materials. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects on surface roughness of 4 different commercially available chemical cleaning agents (Polident, Corega Tabs, Fittydent, Efferdent) and sodium hypochlorite on the denture base materials.
