Increased Soil Aggregate Stability by Altering Contents and Chemical Composition of Organic Carbon Fractions via Seven Years of Manure Addition in Mollisols
نویسندگان
چکیده
Mollisols include an abundance of soil organic carbon (SOC) which is easily influenced by fertilization management. Manure addition could enhance aggregate stability; however, the dominating factor affecting its stabilization remains controversial. The practices were initiated in 2012 to investigate influences different managements on contents and molecular characterization (OC) fractions, clarify underlying mechanism stability change. NoF (non-fertilizer), CF (only chemical fertilizer), + DM (chemical fertilizer plus single dairy manure at 15 t ha−1), 2DM double 30 ha−1) treatments established. This research was aimed exploring potential that affects through variation composition OC screening out appropriate practice promoting SOC crop yield under 7-year addition. Compared CF, significantly enhanced content 17.4–35.9% 0–10 cm depth, evidenced from contribution increased aromatic compounds with 4.3–19.9%. Simultaneously, compared both dissolved oxidizable 12.5–37.7% a 0–30 layer. In regard aggregates, mass percentage macroaggregates, decreased free microaggregates improved 0-30 layer, proven be increment mean weight diameter (MWD) geometric (GMD) values 17.6–22.1%. Moreover, raised compound amounts POM fractions within macroaggregates [M(c)POM] 5.6–11.6% (Fm-POM) 4.3–10%. Furthermore, maize 5.7% 4.2% but no significant difference observed between treatments. Collectively, physical protection occlusion aggregates might central for Mollisols. ha−1 effective management method

Stability and stabilisation of biochar and green manure in soil with different organic carbon contents
Due to its recalcitrance against microbial degradation, biochar is very stable in soil compared to other organic matter additions, making its application to soils a suitable approach for the build-up of soil organic carbon (SOC). The net effects of such biochar addition also depend on its interactions with existing organic matter in soils. A study was established to investigate how the status o...

Soil organic carbon dynamics jointly controlled by climate, carbon inputs, soil properties and soil carbon fractions.
Soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics are regulated by the complex interplay of climatic, edaphic and biotic conditions. However, the interrelation of SOC and these drivers and their potential connection networks are rarely assessed quantitatively. Using observations of SOC dynamics with detailed soil properties from 90 field trials at 28 sites under different agroecosystems across the Australian ...
