چکیده
Ferric chloride (FeCl3) modified reed straw-based biochar was synthesized to remove nitrate from aqueous solutions and achieve waste recycling. The adsorption of onto Fe-RBC-600 adsorbents could be described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model fitted Langmuir adsorption, maximum capacity predicted using 272.024 mg g−1. adsorbent characterization indicated that a high temperature 600 °C an oxygen-poor environment develop hydrophobic surface O-containing functional groups on biochar, which provided more binding sites for Fe3+/Fe2+ attachment increased functionality with iron oxide formation. increasing successfully enhanced property. mechanism mainly attributed physical positive sequential chemical reduction Fe2+, electrostatic protonated amine groups.

Effects of Feedstock and Pyrolysis Temperature on Biochar Adsorption of Ammonium and Nitrate
Biochar produced by pyrolysis of biomass can be used to counter nitrogen (N) pollution. The present study investigated the effects of feedstock and temperature on characteristics of biochars and their adsorption ability for ammonium N (NH4(+)-N) and nitrate N (NO3(-)-N). Twelve biochars were produced from wheat-straw (W-BC), corn-straw (C-BC) and peanut-shell (P-BC) at pyrolysis temperatures of...

متن کاملTiO2 based surface acoustic wave gas sensor with modified electrode dimensions for enhanced H2 sensing application
The design and optimization of nanostructure-based surface acoustic wave (SAW) gas sensor is analyzed based on TiO2 sensing layer and modified electrode dimensions. The sensitivity of the gas sensor depends upon the type of sensing layer used and active surface area obtained by varying the aspect ratio. The performance of the sensor is observed from 0.1ppm to 100ppm concentration of ...
متن کاملCo2 Adsorption by Surface Modified Carbon Sorbents
Anthropogenic emissions have increased the CO2 concentration on the atmosphere with over 30% compared to pre-industrialize levels [1]. Most of these anthropogenic emissions are caused by fossil fuel utilization, where around one-third is due to electricity generation from fossil fuel combustion, mainly from coal-fired units. Furthermore, fossil fuel electricity generation units rank as the firs...
