چکیده

Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is grown in more than 50 countries. India the largest chickpea-producing country accounting for 64% of global chickpea production. However, production contrained by dry root rot disease caused Rhizoctonia bataticola. Considering this problem, investigation was carried out to isolate, characterize and antagonistic potential indigenous endophytic PGPMs one components integrated management chickpeas eco-friendly manner. Hence, isolation thirty from using spread plate technique. The cultural characters Gram’s staining reaction confirmed that isolated plant tissues were bacteria. Among bacterial strains, eight showed 50% mycelial inhibition pathogen. Out five highly superior strains selected subjected 16S rDNA gene sequencing universal primers (16Sr DNA F 16Sr R), which produced amplified products size 1500 bp. nBLAST results sequence revealed all homology with genus Bacillus but different species. namely, BEPGPM-5, BEPGPM-9, BEPGPM-27, BEPGPM-28, BEPGPM-30 identified as B. tropicus, pacificus, cereus, subtilis, respectively, based on molecular

Antagonistic potential of fluorescent pseudomonads and control of charcoal rot of chickpea caused by Macrophomina phaseolina.

The effectiveness of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria especially Pseudomonas fluorescens isolates were tested against charcoal rot of chickpea both in green house as well as in field conditions. Most of the isolates reduced charcoal rot disease and promoted plant growth in green house. A marked increase in shoot and root length was observed in P. fluorescens treated plants. Among all the P....

Intra population diversity in Rhizocotonia bataticola causing dry root rot of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) in India

Fifty isolates of dry root rot pathogen Rhizoctonia bataticola collected from different agro-climatic zones in India were evaluated for the degree of subdivision in isolates level. The isolates showed variability in pathogenicity test. Genetic characteristics were analyzed based on the sequence of the rDNA-internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region. The phylogenetic tree based on rDNA-ITS analysi...

Endophytic Bacteria Improve Plant Growth, Symbiotic Performance of Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) and Induce Suppression of Root Rot Caused by Fusarium solani under Salt Stress

Salinity causes disturbance in symbiotic performance of plants, and increases susceptibility of plants to soil-borne pathogens. Endophytic bacteria are an essential determinant of cross-tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses in plants. The aim of this study was to isolate non-rhizobial endophytic bacteria from the root nodules of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.), and to assess their ability to i...

Antagonistic Activity of Fructoplane Yeast Against Ulocladium Rot of Papaya

Debaryomyces hanseniZopf isolated from the fructoplane of apples were found to be effective as biocontrol agent against rot of papaya caused by Ulocladium. chartarum(Pr.) Simm. The ability of D. hansenii to prevent infection of U. chartarum was lost when the antagonist cells were killed by autoclaving. Cell free culture filtrates of antagonist were unable to prevent disease incidence. Efficacy ...

The Detection and Characterization of QoI-Resistant Didymella rabiei Causing Ascochyta Blight of Chickpea in Montana

Ascochyta blight (AB) of pulse crops (chickpea, field pea, and lentils) causes yield loss in Montana, where 1.2 million acres was planted to pulses in 2016. Pyraclostrobin and azoxystrobin, quinone outside inhibitor (QoI) fungicides, have been the choice of farmers for the management of AB in pulses. However, a G143A mutation in the cytochrome b gene has been reported to confer resistance to Qo...
