چکیده
Background: The intentional commencement of cervical ripening and uterine contraction for the purpose achieving delivery prior to onset spontaneous parturition is known as induction labour. When benefits mother or foetus surpass extending pregnancy, it indicated. this study was assess efficacy a transcervical foley's catheter with extra amniotic saline infusion against intra prostaglandin E2 gel inducing labour in term pregnant women. Methods: From January 2020 June 2021, comparative undertaken at R.L. Jalappa Hospital Research Centre. enrolled total 72 individuals. After obtaining informed consent from patients who were admitted, meeting inclusion criteria, detailed history collected, baseline investigations done. clinical examination patient, by using simple lottery method, divided into group A (Extra Foley’s catheter) B (Dinoprostone (PGE2 gel) group). Results: Prolonged gestational age, hypertensive disorders oligohydramnios most frequent causes EASI group, accounting 38.89%, 22.22%, respectively. dinoprostone has 36.11%, 33.33%, 25%, induction, majority had modified Bishop's score 2. Conclusions: Our research found that PGE2 equally effective

BACKGROUND Induction of labour is the intentional initiation of cervical ripening and uterine contraction for the purpose of accomplishing delivery, prior to onset of spontaneous parturition. This study was conducted to compare maternal and neonatal outcome in women induced with Prostaglandin E2 gel, Prostaglandin E2 pessary and extra-amniotic saline infusion with oxytocin at Bishops score < 5....
متن کاملComparative Study of Intracervical Foleys Catheter Instillation vs PGE2 Gel for Induction of Labour
Background: Cervical ripening, before induction of labour, is needed to increase the success of labour induction, to reduce complications and to diminish the rate of cesarean section and duration of labour. Pharmacological preparations are in widespread use for cervical ripening but are not free from side-effects and complications. Mechanical methods, i.e. the use of Foley’s catheter balloon, t...

Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety of transcervical foley catheter alone to transcervical foley catheter with extra-amniotic saline infusion for labour induction and cervical ripening in women with an unfavourable cervix. Method: 100 pregnant women (study population) were allocated randomly into two groups. First 50 patients were assigned to treatment with transcervical foley cathete...
