چکیده

Mushroom production in India has registered a considerable growth the recent times. However, cultivation of shiitake mushroom, which represents major share at global level, is still primitive stage Indian subcontinent. The scarcity raw materials and cost energy for substrate sterilization are hurdles large-scale production. present study delves into possibility growing mushroom on lignocellulosic biomass (saw dust wheat straw) processed with different heat treatments to develop cost-effective technology. Six strains viz., DMRO-35, 51, 297, 388s, 410, 412, were used this study. substrates exposed pasteurization temperature 80 ± 5 °C bulk chamber three times (H1–H3) also high-pressure (H4) an autoclave. DMRO-388s was found be most productive strain, irrespective treatment method used. Significant differences observed biological yield depending type treatment. Changes biochemical composition residues stages, pre treatment, inoculation primordial formation recorded. levels duration significantly altered cellulose/lignin ratio substrate. High-pressure aided rapid degradation lignin increased its bioavailability, thereby facilitating fungus achieving potential yield. A significant correlation positive direction between tested consumption found, suggesting significance bioconversion subsequent utilization solid-state fermentation process. under proved beneficial obtain maximum yields mushroom.

Antimutagenic effect of Lentinula edodes (BERK.) Pegler mushroom and possible variation among lineages.

This study was performed to evaluate the efficiency of four different lineages (95/01, L1, 96/22 and JABK) of Lentinula edodes (BERK.) Pegler mushroom (shiitake) for inhibiting the N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea (ENU) clastogenicity in vivo. Male Swiss mice (10 animals/group) were treated during 15 consecutive days with dried mushroom added to basal diet under three different concentrations (1, 5 and 10...

Biosynthesis of Se-methyl-seleno-l-cysteine in Basidiomycetes fungus Lentinula edodes (Berk.) Pegler

BACKGROUND The aim of the current study was to investigate whether the Basidiomycetes fungus Lentinula edodes can biosynthesize Se-methyl-seleno-l-cysteine, a seleno-amino acid with strong anticancer activity, and to optimize the culture conditions for its biosynthesis. We hypothesize that preparations obtained from Se-methyl-seleno-l-cysteine-enriched mycelia from this medicinal mushroom would...

Starch Concentrations in Log-Grown Shiitake Mushrooms (Lentinula edodes (Berk.) Pegler)

Shiitake (Lentinula edodes (Berk.) Pegler) mushrooms have a reputation as a healthy food, in part from the abundance of different polysaccharides that may have functional food activities. However, the total polysaccharide content of mushrooms may not represent the functional food activity if they contain significant concentrations of starch. There are few reports characterizing the starch conte...

Production of Shiitake ( Lentinula edodes ) Mushrooms in Lignocellulosic Residues

Lignocellulosic residues were tested as artificial log to mushroom production of Lentinula edodes. Three isolates of L. edodes were grown in substrates based on corn bog, and sawdust or bark of eucalypt, enriched with rice bran 20%. The biological efficiency (BE) were higher when corn borg and sawdust was used and the isolate UFV 73 was that presented well shaped mushrooms and higher productivi...

Solid State Fermentation for Production of Chitosan by Aspergillus Niger

The effect of Solid State Fermentation (SSF) on Chitosan production by A. niger was investigated. A. niger BBRC 20004 from Biochemical and Bioenvironmental Research Centre of Sharif University of Technology (Tehran, Iran), was grown on corn residue. Chitosan was extracted from the fungal mycelia using hot alkaline and acid treatment. A. niger was incubated for 12 days on corn residue with moist...
