چکیده

During the kharif season of 2018, a field experiment titled "Influence phosphorus and potassium in combination with biofertilizers on growth cowpea [Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp]" was carried out at crop research farm Division Agronomy, Faculty Agriculture, Sher-e-Kashmir University Agricultural Sciences Technology Kashmir. The soil experimental had texture clay loam, neutral reaction (pH 6.9), low available nitrogen, phosphorus, medium potassium, organic carbon. laid Randomized Block Design (RBD) design nine treatments three replications. results revealed that significantly influenced by different Among various treatments, application RDF (30 N, 60 P2O5, 30 K2O) kg ha-1+ seed inoculation Phosphorus Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB) + Potassium (KSB) recorded maximum plant height (86.18 cm), leaf area index (3.62), dry matter production (16.20 q ha-1) it also increased number effective root nodules per cowpea.

Effect of pO(2) on Growth and Nodule Functioning of Symbiotic Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp.).

Nodulated cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp. cv Vita 3:Bradyrhizobium CB 756) plants were cultured with their whole root system or crown root nodulation zone maintained for periods from 5 to 69 days after planting in atmospheres containing a range of pO(2) (1-80%, v/v) while the rest of the plant grew in normal air. Growth (dry matter yield) and N(2) fixation were largely unaffected by pO(2) fr...

Triple inoculation with Bradyrhizobium, Glomus and Paenibacillus on cowpea (Vigna unguiculata [L.] walp.) development

The use of microorganisms to improve the availability of nutrients to plants is of great importance to agriculture. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of triple inoculation of cowpea with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) and rhizobia to maximize biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) and promote plant growth. The experiment was conducted in a greenhous...

Diversity in 113 cowpea [Vigna unguiculata (L) Walp] accessions assessed with 458 SNP markers

Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) markers were used in characterization of 113 cowpea accessions comprising of 108 from Ghana and 5 from abroad. Leaf tissues from plants cultivated at the University of Ghana were genotyped at KBioscience in the United Kingdom. Data was generated for 477 SNPs, out of which 458 revealed polymorphism. The results were used to analyze genetic dissimilarity among...

Additive interactions of unrelated viruses in mixed infections of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp)

This study was carried out to determine the effects of single infections and co-infections of three unrelated viruses on three cowpea cultivars (one commercial cowpea cultivar "White" and 2 IITA lines; IT81D-985 and TVu 76). The plants were inoculated with Cowpea aphid-borne mosaic virus (CABMV), genus Potyvirus, Cowpea mottle virus (CMeV), genus Carmovirus and Southern bean mosaic virus (SBMV)...
