Influence of Plasma Sheath’s Velocity Field on ISAR Imaging of Hypersonic Target

Plasma sheath poses a serious challenge to inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging of hypersonic targets. This paper investigated the distribution characteristics electron density and velocity field in plasma surrounding target various flight scenes. The incident depth reflective surface electromagnetic (EM) waves with X-band, Ku-band, Ka-band can be determined based on frequency. We established echo model coupled obtained one-dimensional range profiles ISAR images simulation results indicated that non-uniform induced displacement diffusion profile, resulting image distortion. A changing scene frequency have an impact results. Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) Structural Similarity (SSIM) were utilized assess images. study revealed defocus mechanism caused by provided theoretical reference for selection targets
