InSAR-based method for deformation monitoring of landslide source area in Baihetan reservoir, China

As a cascading disaster, the surge caused by reservoir bank landslide seriously affects stability of and dam body. In addition, large-scale hydropower projects are usually built in mountain canyon areas with active geological structure movement, which provides rich material sources for occurrence landslides, so it is great significance to monitor deformation source area reservoir. science technology have been leaping forward, wide variety high novel technologies proposed, can be adopted deformation. It noteworthy that InSAR capable monitoring target all time under weathers without need install any equipment. this study, series main Baihetan after water storage was determined based on method. The average annual rate from April 2021 January 2023 combining Sentinel-1 SAR data 55 ascending tracks 46 descending tracks. Moreover, vegetation cover variations study were remote sensing Landsat8-9. A total four typical selected field investigation analyze results variations. indicated results: 1) After storage, slope larger short term, lower part turned out more significant, exceeded 334.583 mm/year. 2) On steep slope, effect different types restraining different. optimal reported shrubs, followed grasslands, worst woodlands. provide scientific support prevention control regional disasters.
