Insertion Function in Code-Mixing Use on WhatsApp Group Chats Among University Students

Code-mixing is viewed as using two or more languages in daily interaction. highly intriguing to investigate it has become an unquestionable option for particular speech communities worldwide. However, analysis of insertion code-mixing phenomenon on WhatsApp Group Chat university students not been supported by current empirical studies. The evidence indicates that the usage a great tactic show speaker's communication strategy, intimacy, and limited linguistic competence. This study aimed analyze types, functions, values use among students. used descriptive-qualitative method. Twenty-two Chats were chosen respondents this study. Moreover, researchers documentation, interviews, field observations obtain data from respondents. findings demonstrate functions are solidarity, interjection, vocabulary, clarification, group identity expressions.
