INTEGRATING EXTENSIVE READING INTO THE LESSONS: ITS EFFECTS ON EFL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS’ READING PERFORMANCE

This one-group experimental study attempts to investigate the effects of integrating extensive reading, especially integration two main reading skills namely skimming and scanning into lessons on EFL high school students’ performance. The participants were 62 grade-10 students studying in a Mekong Delta, Vietnam. four instruments used collect data included Reading Tests (consisting Pre-test Post-test), questionnaire, semi-structured interview, pre-program survey, respectively. results analysis indicated relatively significant impact performance, improvement skills, scanning. In addition, it confirmed that had positive attitude towards lessons. present showed implication incorporation should get more attention language teaching programs at secondary education.
