Interaction-driven phase transition in one dimensional mirror-symmetry protected topological insulator

چکیده
Topological crystalline insulators are phases of matter where the symmetries solely protect topology. In this work, we explore effect many-body interactions in a subclass topological insulators, namely mirror-symmetry protected insulator. Employing prototypical mirror-symmetric quasi-one-dimensional model, demonstrate emergence phase and its robustness presence short-range interactions. When longer-range introduced, find an interaction-induced transition between order trivial charge density wave. The results obtained using density-matrix renormalization group quantum Monte Carlo simulations applicable limits.

Interacting one-dimensional fermionic symmetry-protected topological phases.
In free fermion systems with given symmetry and dimension, the possible topological phases are labeled by elements of only three types of Abelian groups, 0, Z2, or Z. For example, noninteracting one-dimensional fermionic superconducting phases with S(z) spin rotation and time-reversal symmetries are classified by Z. We show that with weak interactions, this classification reduces to Z4. Using g...
متن کاملMirror-symmetry protected non-TRIM surface state in the weak topological insulator Bi2TeI.
Strong topological insulators (TIs) support topological surfaces states on any crystal surface. In contrast, a weak, time-reversal-symmetry-driven TI with at least one non-zero v1, v2, v3 ℤ2 index should host spin-locked topological surface states on the surfaces that are not parallel to the crystal plane with Miller indices (v1 v2 v3). On the other hand, mirror symmetry can protect an even num...
متن کاملTunable Defect Mode in One-Dimensional Ternary Nanophotonic Crystal with Mirror Symmetry
In this paper, the properties of the defect mode in the photonic band gap ofone-dimensional ternary photonic crystals containing high temperature superconductorlayer (SPCs) have been theoretically investigated. We considered the quasi-periodiclayered structures by choosing two order of ternary Thue-Morse structures with mirrorsymmetry. We investigated the transmission spectra of these structure...

متن کاملTopological phase transition in quasi-one dimensional organic conductors
We explore topological phase transition, which involves the energy spectra of field-induced spin-density-wave (FISDW) states in quasi-one dimensional (Q1D) organic conductors, using an extended Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model. We show that, in presence of half magnetic-flux FISDW state, the system exhibits topologically nontrivial phases, which can be characterized by a nonzero Chern number. T...
