Intermittent power smoothing control for grid connected hybrid wind/PV system using battery-EDLC storage devices

Wind and solar radiation are intermittent with stochastic fluctuations, which can influence the stability of operation hybrid system in grid integrated mode operation. In this research work, a smoothing control method for mitigating output power variations wind/PV using battery electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) is investigated. The fluctuations absorbed by EDLC during wide generated from wind system, subsequently, supplied to smoothened. This makes higher penetration incorporation renewable energy resources the utility possible. strategy inverter realized inject utility unity factor constant DC bus voltage. Both photovoltaic (PV) systems controlled extracting maximum power. In order observe performance under practical situations one-day site velocity irradiation data considered. dynamic modeling effectiveness verified MATLAB/Simulink environment. simulation results show that be significantly mitigated using the combination based storage systems. controller proposed devices advantageous as compared technique uses either or ultracapacitor used fluctuating power
