چکیده

BackgroundAir pollutants are suspected to affect pathological conditions of allergic rhinitis (AR).ObjectivesAfter detecting Pb (375 ?g/kg) in Japanese cedar pollen, the effects intranasal exposure on symptoms AR were investigated.MethodsPollen counts, subjective symptoms, and levels nasal epithelial lining fluid (ELF) investigated 44 patients with pollinosis 57 controls from preseason season. Effects confirmed by using a mouse model AR.ResultsPb ELF >40% higher than those control subjects during pollen season but not before level was positively associated counts for latest 4 days visiting hospital as well scores symptoms. Intranasal exacerbated mice, suggesting an exacerbation factor. mucosa Pb-exposed mice nonallergic despite intranasally challenging same amount Pb. Because increased decreased after washing cavity, surface inside may have been source mice.ConclusionsIncreased partially derived could exacerbate AR, indicating novel hazardous air pollutant AR. Air (AR). After investigated. Pollen mice. Increased

Intranasal ciclesonide for allergic rhinitis

Ciclesonide is a novel corticosteroid which is optimized for topical use. It is a pro-drug which is activated locally in the airway mucosa, lipid-conjugated for local retention, and has very high protein binding in circulation leading to low systemic bioavailability. These characteristics should lead to highly selective activity with reduced local and systemic side effects. It has been establis...

Botulinum Toxin Type A on an Intranasal Sponge for Chronic Allergic Rhinitis: Randomized Clinical Trial

Objectives: In this study, we examined the effect of botulinum toxin A (BTA) on chronic allergic rhinitis (CAR). We tested the effects of BTA, applied to an intranasal sponge, on patients who had CAR for a minimum of three years and had been treated unsuccessfully with conventional medications. Methods:The study was an interventional case-control single-blind randomized clinical trial. Forty...

CD14 as A Serum Immune Biomarker and Genetic Predisposition Factor for Allergic Rhinitis

Introduction: Allergic Rhinitis (AR) is a common inflammatory disease of the nasal mucosa. The CD14 is a receptor for lipopolysaccharide and inhaled endotoxin which can stimulate the production of interleukins by antigen presenting cells. Accordingly, CD14 plays an important role in allergic and atopic diseases, which can be one of the etiological factors for allergic diseases. The present stud...
