چکیده
Abstract Introduction/Objective Acinetobacter baumannii is a nosocomial opportunistic pathogen that usually associated with mucosal infections such as pneumonia, urinary tract or sepsis and less commonly more severe illnesses meningitis, wound infection, necrotizing fasciitis. Of late, A. baumanniihas been flagged by the CDC an urgent threat due to multidrug-resistant properties it has acquired, making major concern public health. Due sparsity of information on virulence factors immune evasion, difficult understand how this bacterium able gain foothold cause infections. We sought study fasciitis-associated strains interact human macrophages assess their capabilities in evasion host response. Methods/Case Report To end, extensively drug resistant was isolated at two timepoints (strains NFAb-1 NFAb-2) from patient over course lethal fasciitis infection led sepsis. The intracellular survival these compared each other, well type strains, ATCC 19606 17978, within macrophage-differentiated monocyte cell line, THP-1. Survival studies were complemented quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) investigate expression potential bacterial factors, Catalase E (KatE), Phospholipase C (PLC), Outer membrane protein A (ompA), Pilus (PilA), could contribute evasion. Results (if Case Study enter NA) assay demonstrated enhanced growth NFAb-2 17978. Examining gene expression, KatE, PLC, OmpA didn’t show any significant differences between while PilA had much higher Conclusion This data establishes nectrotizing fasciitis-causing are likely sruvivie macrophage-mediatied response pilus-assocated genes may play role interactions. our demonstrate need further mechanisms its ability evade hopes understanding combating

Background: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent cells, capable of differentiating into different cell lines. They can sense their surrounding biochemical and biophysical factors, which play major roles in their differentiation toward different phenotypes. Therefore, the exposure of these cells to endothelial growth factor (VEGF) as well as hemodynamic biomechanical forces, which act on...
متن کاملPrognostic Factors in the Survival Rate of Patients with Differentiated Thyroid Cancer
Background: Thyroid cancer is the most prevalent malignancy of the endocrine systemcancers. Thyroid cancer has increased faster thatn any other malignancy in recent years. Tyroid cancer has different histopathologic types, of which the most common is the differentiated type. Different factors can affect the prognosis of the patients. In this study, we investigated different factors that can aff...
متن کاملApoptotic induction induces Leishmania aethiopica and L. mexicana spreading in terminally differentiated THP-1 cells.
Leishmaniasis develops after parasites establish themselves as amastigotes inside mammalian cells and start replicating. As relatively few parasites survive the innate immune defence, intracellular amastigotes spreading towards uninfected cells is instrumental to disease progression. Nevertheless the mechanism of Leishmania dissemination remains unclear, mostly due to the lack of a reliable mod...
متن کاملSurvival of Intracellular Pathogens within Macrophages
Reactive oxygen metabolites produced during phagocytosis are important for the microbicidal activity of granulocytes and probably of monocytes as well (1, 2). Although the role of reactive oxygen metabolites in the microbicidal activity of macrophages is not established, recent studies (3-6) suggest that they may be important because activated macrophages that exhibit enhanced antimicrobial act...
