چکیده
Abstract The current study aims at simulating the in-cylinder combustion process in a diesel engine and investigating performance pollutant formation. simulation is performed on 3D sector employing appropriate models for various physical chemical processes contributing phenomenon. overall model includes Transition SST turbulence model, eddy dissipation chemistry interaction, Moss–Brookes soot calculation Zeldovich mechanism NO production other than usual transport equations. numerical solutions are based finite volume discretization of governing partial differential Engine has been studied terms pressure, temperature heat release rate while pollutants formation investigated thermal production. results show that ignition delay quite short injection timing may be successfully employed to control behavior. consistent with expected behavior target variables indicating CFD analysis can design. validation acknowledged view mesh independence test, literature comparison justification models.

In this paper a numerical approach for the prediction of the unsteady atomization process of liquid fuel in Diesel engine is presented. The dependences between the transient nozzle flow and spray formation are analysed. For that purpose models to simulate unsteady nozzle flows including the transient behaviour of cavitation and two-phase atomization process are employed. Results of transient fl...
