Investigation on micro-flame structure of AP composite propellant under wide pressure range

This present work proposes a method to exactly evaluate the thermal process of Ammonium perchlorate/Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (AP/HTPB) propellant. The three-dimensional propellant pack is generated by Monte-Carlo obtain representative sandwich model on base dual-slicing technique. AP monopropellant flame height H1, primary diffusion H2 and final H3 are jointly determined temperature component distributions gas phase thermodynamic field, which more accurate capture this complicated combustion field distribution comparing with earlier reported studies. Peclet number Damkohler also introduced quantitatively investigate influence mechanism chemical kinetics mixing components micro-flame structure under wide pressure range (0.69MPa-20.7MPa). Further, based criterion whether premixed flow above burning surface can absorb heat flux continuously from approach adiabatic temperature, divided into two regions in detail: (1) front (2) trailing flame.
