Ruptured internal iliac artery aneurysm presenting as Cullen’s sign
Cullen's sign or periumbilical ecchymosis, is classically considered as an indicator of acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis or ruptured ectopic pregnancy. Internal iliac artery aneurysms are rare and are usually asymptomatic. We present a case of a contained rupture of the internal iliac artery aneurysm presenting with Cullen's sign.
متن کاملIsolated Iliac Artery Aneurysm
Unlike abdominal and combined aortoiliac artery aneurysms, isolated iliac artery aneurysms (IIAAs) are uncommon. An isolated iliac artery aneurysm is defined as a twofold increase in the diameter of the iliac artery without a coexisting aneurysm at another location. IIAA was encountered infrequently in the past, comprising 0.9% to 4.7% of all intraabdominal aneurysms according to a review of pr...
متن کاملBloodless Surgery for Rupture of Isolated Internal Iliac Artery Aneurysm
Blood-sparing surgical techniques and perioperative medical management allow for complex cardiovascular surgery for patients who refuse blood transfusion. We describe here successful surgical treatment of a ruptured isolated internal iliac artery aneurysm in a Jehovah’s Witness patient who was suffering from renal dysfunction, shock, and chronic heart failure and was not a candidate for endovas...

This paper reviews the available literature regarding the epidemiology, aetiology, natural history, diagnosis and management with a focus on aneurysms of atherosclerotic origin. METHODS A literature search was performed using internet databases PubMed, Medline and Medscape followed by...
متن کاملRevascularized internal iliac artery aneurysm presenting as a painful pulsatile scrotal mass after aortobifemoral bypass surgery.
Pulsatile scrotal masses are extremely rare. We report the first case of pulsatile and painful scrotal mass that had an arterial collateral circulation, equivalent to an arterioarterial shunt, feeding an excluded internal iliac artery aneurysm after aortobifemoral bypass surgery.
