Jet Substructure at the Tevatron and LHC : New results , new tools , new benchmarks
In this report we review recent theoretical progress and the latest experimental results in jet substructure from the Tevatron and the LHC. We review the status of and outlook for calculation and simulation tools for studying jet substructure. Following up on the report of the Boost 2010 workshop, we present a new set of benchmark comparisons of substructure techniques, focusing on the set of v...
متن کاملJet substructure as a new Higgs search channel at the LHC
A key aim of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is to discover the Higgs boson, or to prove its non-existence, and hence elucidate the mechanism of mass generation and electroweak symmetry breaking. Current electroweak fits, together with the LEP exclusion limit, favour a light Higgs boson, i.e. one around 120 GeV in mass [1]. This mass region is particularly challenging for the LHC experiments, a...
متن کاملJet physics at HERA, Tevatron and LHC
In this short report, we discuss the Jet Physics results and perspectives at HERA, Tevatron and LHC. The different accelerators are complementary as shown in Fig. 1, where the kinematical plane in (x,Q) is displayed (x and Q are respectively the proton momentum fraction carried by the interacting parton and the transferred energy squared carried by the virtual photon). HERA allows to reach very...
متن کاملJet gap jet events at Tevatron and LHC
We investigate diffractive events in hadron-hadron collisions, in which two jets are produced and separated by a large rapidity gap. Using a renormalisation-group improved NLL kernel implemented in the HERWIG Monte Carlo program, we show that the BFKL predictions are in good agreement with the Tevatron data, and present predictions which could be tested at the LHC.
متن کاملNew Results on Jet Fragmentation at CDF
Presented are the latest results of jet fragmentation studies at the Tevatron using the CDF Run II detector. Studies include the distribution of transverse momenta (Kt) of particles jets, two-particle momentum correlations, and indirectly global event shapes in pp̄ collisions. Results are discussed within the context of recent Next-to-Leading Log calculations as well as earlier experimental resu...
