چکیده
Abstract The aim of this work is to develop a hybrid computational method that combines the grid-characteristic on regular structured grids with discontinuous Galerkin unstructured tetrahedral grids. proposed makes it possible describe integration domains complex-shaped boundaries and contact calculate seismic fields taking into account topography Earth’s surface, while saving resources. This modification in three-dimensional case has been paper for first time. Examples using developed calculating elastic wave phenomena arising during prospecting are given. By way testing, comparison made results produced by curvilinear can be used not only prospecting, but also other objects complex shape.

Discontinuous Galerkin Finite Element Method for the Wave Equation
The symmetric interior penalty discontinuous Galerkin finite element method is presented for the numerical discretization of the second-order wave equation. The resulting stiffness matrix is symmetric positive definite and the mass matrix is essentially diagonal; hence, the method is inherently parallel and leads to fully explicit time integration when coupled with an explicit timestepping sche...
متن کاملA Relation between the Discontinuous Petrov--Galerkin Method and the Discontinuous Galerkin Method
This paper is an attempt in seeking a connection between the discontinuous Petrov– Galerkin method of Demkowicz and Gopalakrishnan [13,15] and the popular discontinuous Galerkin method. Starting from a discontinuous Petrov–Galerkin (DPG) method with zero enriched order we re-derive a large class of discontinuous Galerkin (DG) methods for first order hyperbolic and elliptic equations. The first ...
متن کاملSparse Grid Discretizations based on a Discontinuous Galerkin Method
We examine and extend Sparse Grids as a discretization method for partial differential equations (PDEs). Solving a PDE in D dimensions has a cost that grows as O(ND) with commonly used methods. Even for moderate D (e.g. D = 3), this quickly becomes prohibitively expensive for increasing problem size N . This effect is known as the Curse of Dimensionality. Sparse Grids offer an alternative discr...
متن کاملParallel Implementation of the Discontinuous Galerkin Method
This paper describes a parallel implementation of the discontinuous Galerkin method. The discontinuous Galerkin is a spatially compact method that retains its accuracy and robustness on non-smooth unstructured grids and is well suited for time dependent simulations. Several parallelization approaches are studied and evaluated. The most natural and symmetric of the approaches has been implemente...
