Joint Sparse Observation and Coding Design for Multiple Phenomena Monitoring

Energy-efficient designs play an important role in the Internet of Things (IoT) that monitors multiple phenomena, due to limited power supply and complicated observation. In this paper, taking into account consumptions observation, coding, communication, we propose a joint sparse observation coding scheme for energy-efficient monitoring phenomena using IoT. Through analysis outage performance, find can achieve performance full which all nodes observe with lower consumption dynamic selective coding. With derived achievable rates network consumption, study trade-off between is determined by both matrix matrix. For given rate constraints, optimization problem minimize jointly designing matrices. To solve NP-hard efficiently, low-complexity algorithm convex-concave procedure. Moreover, improve high noise environment, adopt collaboration among suppress noises equalize bad observations utilizing diversity. Finally, simulation results illustrate superior proposed schemes.
