چکیده
JUWELS is a multi-petaflop modular supercomputer operated by Juelich Supercomputing Centre at Forschungszentrum as European and national supercomputing resource for the Gauss Supercomputing. In addition, serves Earth system modeling community AI within Helmholtz Association well. currently consists of two modules. The first module deployed in 2018 so-called Cluster module. BullSequana X1000 with Intel Xeon Skylake-SP processors Mellanox EDR InfiniBand. second 2020 Booster XH2000 2nd generation AMD EPYC processors, NVIDIA Ampere GPUs NVIDIA/Mellanox HDR Infiniband. This paper describes detail architecture from users perspective, additionally provides further insights into administrative infrastructure used to operate supercomputer.

Cluster Computing : The Commodity Supercomputing
The availability of high-speed networks and increasingly powerful commodity microprocessors is making the usage of clusters, or networks, of computers an appealing vehicle for cost effective parallel computing. Clusters, built using commodity-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware components as well as free, or commonly used, software, are playing a major role in redefining the concept of supercomputing...

متن کاملTrends in supercomputing: The European path to exascale
In the past decade a dramatic growth in supercomputer performance has been achieved despite the fact that processor clock rates are becoming have saturated. The chip industry has compensated these limitations by moving from single-core to multiand many-core processors. While this approach yields performance characteristics matching or even exceeding that suggested by Moores Law, the high parall...

MITMatlab is a system that provides users of high performance computers with an interactive, easy-to-use environment for solving their scientific and engineering problems. It is an effort to bridge the gap between scientific computing in the desktop and supercomputer worlds by providing users of parallel machines with a tool for manipulating and visualising large datasets. We believe that the m...
