Knowledge And Judgments About Standard Precautions For Nosocomial Infection: Comparative Analysis Of Medical Vs. Non-Medical Students

Background — Nosocomial infection (NI) is among the most common and serious challenges in a healthcare system. Health workers medical students play an important role prevention of NI. Despite advances field medicine Kazakhstan, low detection rate NIs remains unchanged, which could be due to lack awareness standard precautions for control health workers. This study aimed at examining knowledge judgments on non-medical students. Material Methods We conducted cross-sectional paper-based survey examine about NI Data collection took place between September 21 December 20, 2017. Results The enrolled 2,817 mean overall score (±SD) was 2.045±1.29. Medical had better (2.113) than (1.785; p<0.001). Awareness preventive measures increasing with year study, but still just one-third 5 were aware (36.3% vs. 17.4% students; Conclusion our indicated inadequate guidelines both In order improve patient safety welfare, courses should introduced into curricular universities Kazakhstan.
