Knowledge, Awareness and Expectations of Root Canal Treatment: Patients’ Perspective

Root canal treatment (RCT) is one of the common procedures done in order to retain natural tooth and avoid extraction. The major reason for patient not opting RCT due lack knowledge. factors that discourage hinder when identified will help understanding clinician adequately address issue. Thus, this study with aim assess knowledge, awareness expectation from patients’ perspective was undertaken. This survey conducted pre-structured questionnaire consisting 13 questions were distributed random 404 patients attending department. completed analyzed. 61.4 % participants had knowledge RCT. Participants previous experience more likely undertake procedure again despite cost issue, required, then those who no experience.72% choose specialized service.
