In this essay, we appeal to conceptual and empirical research establish that autonomy meaningfulness, when understood concretely realistically, remain possible for frail dependent elders. Contrary ageist cultural attitudes, relationships render frailty dependence compatible with the exercise of autonomous agency a life meaning. This conclusion is important not only goal supporting elders but also developing realistic understanding way spirituality are required meaning in any human person, regardless what state or independence they may be in.
