Linearized 9-Bit Hybrid LBDD PWM Modulator for Digital Class-BD Amplifier

The paper presents an original architecture and implementation of 9-bit Linearized Pulse Width Modulator (LPWM) for Class-BD amplifier, based on the hybrid method using STM32 microcontroller Programmable Tapped Delay Line (PTDL). analog input signals are converted into 12-bit PCM signals, then directly transformed 32-bit LBDD DPWM data pulse-edge locations within n-th period switching frequency, next requantized to digital outputs, finally two physical trains 1-bit PWM control output stage audio amplifier. quantizer converts 6 MSB bits counter method, peripherals microcontroller, while remaining 3 LSB - a PTDL. In extensive verification algorithm circuit operation as well simulation in MATLAB experimental results proposed have been performed. It allows attain SNR 80 dB THD about 0,3% baseband.
