Local magnetic moments due to loop currents in metals

We present Hartree-Fock calculations on a simple model to obtain the conditions of formation local magnetic moments due loop currents ${L}_{o}$ and spin-loop ${L}_{s}$ compare them spin $M$ which were given long ago in similar approximation by Anderson. A with three degenerate orbitals sitting an equilateral triangle, on-site nearest-neighbor repulsions $U$ $V$, respectively, intersite kinetic energy, hybridizing conduction electrons parameter $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}$ is investigated. are promoted large $V/\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}$ their magnitude relatively unaffected $U/\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}$. Spin-magnetic $U/\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}$ other hand adversely affected $V/\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}$. In this model, for $V$ multiplied number neighbors approximately same as Anderson's $M$. if exchange interactions Hund's rule neglected but favored when they included. Many qualitative results visible expression ground state energy derived function small ${L}_{o}, {L}_{s}$, Numerical minimization presented larger values. also briefly discuss connection differences interaction-generated orbital discussed here generalized lattice topological states metals semiconductors.
