چکیده
Abstract We use the algebraic orthogonality of rotation-free and divergence-free fields in Fourier space to derive solution a class linear homogenization problems as large system. The effective constitutive tensor constitutes only small part vector. Therefore, we propose synchronous local iterative method that is capable efficiently compute single component If convergence solver ensured, i.e., system matrix positive definite diagonally dominant, it outperforms standard direct solvers complete solution. It has been found for larger phase contrasts problem, lost, one needs resort other solvers. discuss system’s properties advantages well drawbacks presented approach.

Direct and Iterative Methods for Numerical Homogenization
Elliptic problems with oscillating coefficients can be approximated up to arbitrary accuracy by using sufficiently fine meshes, i.e., by resolving the fine scale. Well-known multiscale finite elements [5, 9] can be regarded as direct numerical homogenization methods in the sense that they provide approximations of the corresponding (unfeasibly) large linear systems by much smaller systems while...
متن کاملIterative Solver Benchmark
The traditional performance measurement for computers on scienti c application has been the Linpack benchmark [2], which evaluates the e ciency with which a machine can solve a dense system of equations. Since this operation allows for considerable reuse of data, it is possible to show performance gures a sizeable percentage of peak performance, even for machines with a severe unbalance between...
متن کاملAn iterative solver benchmark
In scientific computing, several benchmarks exist that give a user some idea of the to-be-expected performance given a code and a specific computer. One widely accepted performance measurement is the Linpack benchmark [4], which evaluates the efficiency with which a machine can solve a dense system of equations. Since this operation allows for considerable reuse of data, it is possible to show ...
متن کاملFourier-Based Forward and Back-Projectors for Iterative Image Reconstruction
Iterative image reconstruction algorithms play an increasingly important role in modern tomographic systems, especially in emission tomography. With the fast increase of the sizes of the tomographic data, reduction of the computation demands of the reconstruction algorithms is of great importance. Fourier-based forward and back-projection methods have the potential to considerably reduce the co...
متن کاملSynchronous Design Flow for Globally Asynchronous Locally Synchronous Systems
– In this paper, we introduce an efficient design flow for Globally Asynchronous Locally Synchronous systems, which can be used by designers without prior knowledge of asynchronous circuits. The design flow starts with a high-level description model of the system in Simulink and ends with a hardware implementation in an FPGA or a standard-cell ASIC. We have developed a tool in MATLAB, so that t...
