LOG-LINEAR MODELS FOR HIV/AIDS PREVALENCE IN ADAMAWA STATE, NIGERIA

Geographically, prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Nigerian States can be classified into high, medium and low with Adamawa State falling the category (between 1% – 1.9%). Despite several measures interventions put place to mitigate burden state, its has fluctuated certain age groups carrying a far greater than rest population. This paper examines association between some key factors HIV/AIDs State, Nigeria using Log-linear model approach. Data was collected on 3,779 patients infected who came for treatment at Specialist Hospital, Yola, drawing information their gender, age, viral load, marital status from 2019 2020. analysis done R programming software version 3.6.3. Fourteen (14) log-linear models were fitted examining mutual conditional independence study all possible pairwise (and three-way) associations. The results show that progression AIDS following HIV diagnosis differed depending diagnosis, status, load gender. Therefore, there is need sustain efforts reducing this regard.
