This paper introduces a photonics-assisted receiver that enables the reception of high-bandwidth wireless signals with low-bandwidth electronics. The down-converts input signal into parallel sub-signals, employing photonics-based orthogonal sampling. sampling is based on multiplication and not switching, so, it does introduce additional aperture jitter. Therefore, analog-to-digital converter (ADC) converts higher signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio (SINAD), which improves Q-factor for detection. improvement especially high, when carried out low-jitter oscillators.
