چکیده
Abstract Herbicides with soil-residual activity have the potential for carryover into subsequent crops, resulting in injury to sensitive crops and limiting productivity if severe. The increased use of herbicides United States management troublesome weeds corn- soybean-cropping systems has result more cases carryover. Soil practices different effects on soil environment, potentially influencing herbicide degradation likelihood Field experiments were conducted at three sites 2019 2020 determine corn (clopyralid mesotrione) soybean (fomesafen imazethapyr) applied fall reduced rates (25% 50% labeled rates) (tillage, no-tillage, a fall-established cereal rye cover crop) growth crop respectively. Most response variables (cereal biomass canopy termination spring, early-season stand ratings, yield) not affected by Corn yield was lower when managed compared tillage all sites, while no-till two sites. Soybean one site. Findings from this research indicate low risk these across site-years label rotational restrictions are followed environmental conditions favorable exist, regardless practice silt loam or silty clay types U.S. Midwest region.
