Four-wave mixing in a ring cavity
We investigate a four-wave-mixing process in an N interaction scheme in Rb vapor placed inside a low-finesse ring cavity. We observe strong amplification and generation of a probe signal, circulating in the cavity, in the presence of two strong optical pump fields. We study the variations in probe field gain and dispersion as functions of experimental parameters with an eye on the potential app...
متن کاملChip-integrated optical power limiter based on an all-passive micro-ring resonator
Recent progress in silicon nanophotonics has dramatically advanced the possible realization of large-scale on-chip optical interconnects integration. Adopting photons as information carriers can break the performance bottleneck of electronic integrated circuit such as serious thermal losses and poor process rates. However, in integrated photonics circuits, few reported work can impose an upper ...
متن کاملHigh-Q Resonator with Integrated Capacitance for Resonance Power Conversion
Resonant power conversion at MHz frequencies is useful for miniaturization of power electronics, but requires resonators or inductors with high efficiency. Because litz wire is not effective above several MHz, an alternative winding structure for inductors is required for operation at these frequencies. In this paper, we present resonators with a multi-layer foil winding which can be constructe...
متن کاملWavelength conversion of data at gigabit rates via nonlinear optics in an integrated micro- ring resonator
We present the first system penalty measurements for all-optical wavelength conversion in an integrated ring resonator. We achieve wavelength conversion over a range of 27.7nm in the C-band at 2.5 Gb/s by exploiting four wave mixing in a CMOS compatible, high index glass ring resonator at ~22 dBm average pump power, obtaining < 0.3 dB system penalty.
متن کاملParametrically Amplified Bright-state Polariton of Four- and Six-wave Mixing in an Optical Ring Cavity
We report experimental studies of bright-state polaritons of four-wave mixing (FWM) and six-wave mixing (SWM) signals through cascade nonlinear optical parametric amplification processes in an atom-cavity composite system for the first time. Also, the coexisting cavity transmission modes of parametrically amplified FWM and SWM signals are observed. Finally, electromagnetically induced absorptio...
