Calculation of Magneto-optical Spectra in Compositionally-modulated Multilayered Films
Magneto-optical spectrum of compositionally modulated multilayered thin films (CMF) of transition metal/noble metal structure is calculated by using virtual optical constant method, by which most of the experimental results are explained. The physical reasons of enhancement of magneto-optical effect are discussed. Compositionally-modulated multilayered films (CMF) are of recent interest among r...
متن کاملLongitudinal Magneto-Optical Kerr Effect in Ce:YIG Thin Films Incorporating Gold Nanoparticles
We report an experimental study on optical and magneto-optical properties of Cesubstituted yttrium iron garnet thin films incorporating gold nanoparticles. Au nanoparticles were formed by heating Au thin film on cubic quartz and garnet substrate in vacuum chamber and a Ce:YIG layer was deposited on them by the aid of Pulsed laser deposition method. A large enhancement of the longitudinal Kerr e...
متن کاملMAGNETO-OPTICAL KERR EFFECTS OF AMORPHOUS Nd-Co FILMS
The complex off-diagonal components of conductivity tensor (g:, = 4, + i<,) of Co, a-Nd-Co and a-Y-Co was obtained by measuring magneto-optical Kerr effects, reflectivity and transmissivity in the range of fw = 0.8 eV 5eV. Nd-Co showed much greater wcr;, than Y-Co and the difference was deduced to be due to 4f T--t 5d 1. electron transition of Nd.
متن کاملEffects of sputtering pressure on magnetic and magneto-optical properties in compositionally modulated Co/Pd thin films
We have investigated the effects of sputtering Ar gas pressure on magnetic and magneto-optical properties in compositionally modulated Co/Pd thin films. The samples were prepared by dc magnetron sputtering from 2-in.-diam Co and Pd targets by alternately exposing the substrates to targets. Sputtering Ar gas pressure was varied from 2 to 30 mTorr. All samples had same bilayer thicknesses compose...
متن کاملMagneto-optical Kerr effect in laser-patterned La2Õ3Sr1Õ3MnO3 epitaxial thin films
In this study, we have performed magneto-optical Kerr effect ~MOKE! measurement on epitaxial La2/3Sr1/3MnO3 thin films containing artificial interfaces created by laser-patterning the SrTiO3 substrate. The observed increase of the resistivity and of the high-field magnetoresistance when measuring the films across the interface arrays are related to the reduction of the magnetization of the inte...
