Residence time is an important parameter linked to the water quality in estuary. In this paper, we identify and analyze main processes that affect residence of Caloosahatchee River Estuary, a micro-tidal mixed diurnal-semidiurnal estuary located western Florida. Multiyear validated hydrodynamic hindcast results were coupled with offline particle tracking model compute estuary, which showed strong seasonality driven by river discharge. The reduced increasing flow. wind velocity direction also affected time. influence was dependent on magnitude general, upstream-directed increased time, while downstream-directed decreased Downstream during dry period average week.
